Dr Bint complies with Part 35 of the Civil Procedure Rules (1998 and revised Oct 2009), and is familiar with and has worked with the principles as laid down by the test cases of Bolam (Eng), Hunter (Scot) and Dunne (Ire). He has received Cardiff University accredited expert witness training from the Bond Solon consultancy and the Expert Witness Institute.

Prior to precise instructions, Dr Bint is happy to discuss cases free of charge with solicitors ascertaining whether the case is in his area of expertise or not.
He is happy to be communicated with via letter, email or telephone. When sending his terms and conditions, Dr Bint will confirm that the case is within his expertise and that there is no conflict of interest. He will give an estimate as to the cost of the report and the report turnaround time. Dr Bint undertsands the differing constraints and obligations of public funded and privately funded cases and is happy to negotiate payment terms on a case by case basis.

Once precise instructions have been received and terms and conditions agreed, Dr Bint will read all material provided and conduct any necessary literature searches. He will contact the instructing solicitor if further information or clarification is necessary. He will produce a clear, concise report in standard format as approved by the Expert Witness Institute and the Cardiff University accredited Bond Solon Consultancy. Suitably anonymised sample reports are available on request. Each report will be available electronically (scanned) and in paper form. Dr Bint prides himself on producing reports of sufficient quality and clarity, with multiple literature referencing, that they are able to stand up to robust scrutiny. His strength as an expert comes from his ability to set out simply and clearly the expectations of reasonable medical practice.

In general, Dr Bint has a maximum report turnaround of 6 weeks but generally works to a timetable of 2-3 weeks, depending on the size of the case. He has full secretarial support ensuring his reports are presented promptly and at top quality.  Please click on the olive green link to the left for example cases Dr Bint has worked on recently.

If a meeting of experts, case conference or court attendance is necessary Dr Bint will make all possible arrangements to meet his obligations but he does ask that as much forward notice be given as is practically possible. He also asks that solicitors keep him informed as to the outcome of the case. Dr Bint welcomes any constructive criticism of his reports.
